How Do I Buy a Car in a Different State?
Just like buying a car around the corner from your house, buying a car from a dealership in a different state isn't hard at all. You will need the same information to buy a car no matter where you find it. Typically this includes a valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, proof of residency (a utility bill) and proof of income. In some cases the bank may request more information so it's best to get pre-approved for your loan and reserve your vehicle before making the trip to the dealership.

How Do I know It's the Right Car for Me?
We know finding the right car for you is hard; we're glad you found us! Oliver C. Joseph will work have to make sure the vehicle you've selected is everything you're looking for! If you contact our Online Sales Center Team about buying a car, they are able to send you a HD video taken personally for you to answer any questions you had about the vehicle and they will be sure to point out even the smallest areas of concern (like a rock chip). Though we do perform a rigorous inspection on all used cars we sell, you are welcome to contact a local independent repair shop to hire someone to take the car for a test drive and report back to you. To keep this process transparent we do not suggest anyone in particular.

How to Save on Taxes When Buying a Car
You only pay sales tax based on where you register your new vehicle. You do NOT pay sales tax twice; you only owe the tax at the rate where you live. For those registering their new vehicle in a state other than Missouri, we will check your state's tax requirements to make sure everything is done correctly (such as Alaska which requires paperwork to be turned in by hand).
St. Louis and Missouri residences may have heard they don't have to pay taxes if buying in Illinois or a different state. That is not true; it is not the full story. Due to a tax loophole, depending on where you live, you may not owe city/county sales tax; everyone must pay state sales tax. Missouri residence will be responsible for all tax, title registrations & inspection (on used cars) fees.
